China culture event invites Iran as guest of honor

The 2017 Beijing International Book Fair held in China has invited Iran as the event’s guest of honor.

Iran will be the guest of honor at the 24th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) to be held from August 23-27.

The decision was made at a meeting held on March 14 in Tehran between Iranian and Chinese officials, local media previously announced.

Iran will be attending the fair under the motto ‘Iran, the Colorful Dream of Silk Road’.

Eight publishers, three universities, five cultural institutes and three literary agencies are among the Iranian participants at the international fair.

A pavilion covering an area of 500 square meters has been dedicated to Iran at the Beijing fair which is scheduled to display collections of Chinese translations of Iranian books on the Middle East country's art and culture.
